Retired Police Chief Ian A. Moffett

Retired Chief Ian A. Moffett is originally from Georgetown, Guyana and migrated to Toronto, Canada in 1976. In 1985, he moved to Miami, Florida and is currently a nationally and internationally recognized Law Enforcement Subject Matter Expert for the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of State and National Institute of Justice. Chief Moffett retired from the Miami-Dade School Board where he served as the Chief School Safety and Compliance Officer and the Chief of Police prior to that for the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department. He has 36 years of public service experience as a career law enforcement officer and infantry soldier.  Retired Chief Moffett possesses a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute Command Officers Development Course and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (FBINA) Class 262.

Additionally, he currently serves as a Criminal Justice Adjunct Professor for Southern New Hampshire University and Nova Southeastern University. Retired Chief Moffett holds a FBI Secret Clearance and is a certified General and Firearm Instructor through the State of Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.

Ret. Chief Moffett also holds a Mangers Business (MB) License for Security Services through  the Florida Department of Agriculture.  He is also a  Reserve Detective with the State of Florida.

Retired Trooper Kent Jurney

Kent C Jurney Sr has had an impressive and impactful career dedicated to public service and education. His journey from serving in the U.S. Army to becoming a trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol FHP showcases his commitment to the safety and well-being of South Florida community. His academic achievements including a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a master’s in management reflect his dedication to understanding and improving the criminal justice system. As an educator at Miami-Dade College he not only taught essential courses but also played a crucial role in developing new programs that would benefit future law enforcement professionals. His involvement in various committees and advisory boards demonstrates his leadership and commitment to community safety, crime prevention, and support for law enforcement families. With over fifty years of experience in the security industry Kent has made significant contributions to both law enforcement and community initiatives, particularly in Miami-Dade County. His work in advocating for changes in rental car identification to avoid tourist targeting, and support for take home vehicles by the Miami Dade Police Department along with his role in alternative training program for police officers highlighted his protective approach to enhancing public safety. Overall, Kent’s legacy is one of service education and community involvement, making him a respected figure in the fields of security and law enforcement.

Mathew Moffett | MBA

Mathew Moffett has 9 years of law enforcement experience with the City of Miami Police Department. He started his career as a Patrol Officer, served as a Homicide Detective, and was promoted to a Sergeant of Police. He has extensive experience with capital crime investigations, interviews, interrogations, writing and serving warrants, crime scene searches and analysis, chain of custody and evidence management, court proceedings, trial preparations, depositions and testifying. Mathew also served as the City of Miami Police Communications Unit supervisor, the largest municipal Public Safety Access Points (911 Center) in Florida. He has extensive experience with 911 calls, tips and complaints received by law enforcement and relayed to corresponding units. He also supervised the specialized and community policing unit of the Model City (Old Liberty City) area. Mathew earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Liberty University, and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Florida International University.

Mathew transitioned from law enforcement to work alongside Ret. Chief Ian Moffett as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Team Shield. Mathew holds a Managers Business (MB) License for Security Services through  the Florida Department of Agriculture.

Mathew is the Chief Executive Officer of Revive Dental, managing the successful growth and efficiency of their dental services in South Florida. Mathew is also a Florida licensed real estate agent with Onyx Realty, specializing in commercial properties.

Ryan Jurney, ESQ

With 15 years of professional experience Ryan Jurney has developed strategic and operational processes for the Security and Concierge industry increasing and boosting new lines of business at Jurney and Associates, Inc. Since early 2018 Ryan has worked as a operational leader, commercial and new business development manager supporting strategic business development initiatives and portfolio expansion in different stages (planning and execution). As Chief Executive Officer at Gator Protection, Inc Ryan executed the strategic business growth plan for their janitorial services provided in South Florida.

Ryan is the current COO (Chief Operating Officer) at Jurney and Associates, Inc, leading and developing strategic business and increasing our operational scope in order to attract new business and impact the commercial and private property Security and Concierge industry by providing a high standard service based on professional customer centricity.

As an Attorney with a demonstrated history of working in the law practice industry I have developed skills in Trials, Appeals, Criminal Law, Hearings, and Torts. Strong legal professional with a J.D. focused in Law from St. Thomas University School of Law.
